What Are Rocker Lockers. i have yet to see anyone point to a post they made before that date saying the noise came from the rocker shafts rocking. Disassembly is not an issue as you just lift. the harley cylinders are in place & are now ready to put the lower harley rocker box on. Rocker lockers will not cure a bad. the rocker lockers eliminate the gap, locking the shaft from turning and striking the bolt, eliminating that annoying tick so many. the rocker lockers go on the right side of the bike looking forward, this is the carburetor/fuel injected (air cleaner) side. If you want the cheapest route while tearing into your engine, the use of blue loctite 609 or 620 can help, or even solve your ticking noises. all the rocker lockers do, is prevent the shaft that the rocker arms are on from rotating and banging on the mount bolt. the rocker shafts float and smack against the lock down bolts. they work as described and will keep the rocker shaft from rotating back and forth against the rocker support bolts. the rocker lockers are tapered so that they lock themselves in and wedge the bolt/shaft in place.
